 The
reasons to buy
pepper spray are simple: a small can of it is
convenient to carry, legal in most states, and effective
and easy to use. The other non-lethal self defense tools
that we sell such as Stun Guns and TASERs have their
strong points and purposes, but defensive sprays are so
cheap you can keep a can in your car, one in your home,
and you can even buy pepper spray in a pocket-size
product to take on the trail when you’re out jogging or
hiking.
Buy Pepper Spray and
Test It
You should first get some practice
with a can of defense spray if you’re
unfamiliar with the product. If at all possible, we
recommend you take a safety course where instruction is
given on sprays. If this is your first purchase of OC
spray, then we also recommend you buy an extra can so
that you can test it to see how far it sprays, how the
safety top or rotating actuator works, how it fires in
bursts, etc. (Be sure to test it outside and on a
non-windy day.) Take your time and familiarize yourself
with the different types too. You can also buy pepper
spray disguised as pens, pagers and hand weights, or
carry a small can of it conveniently hooked on a
