Canine Pepper Spray contains the same pepper
ingredients as the one used in pepper spray to repel
human attackers although it is usually sold in .33%
strength formulas which is less than the human repellent
spray. The dog spray is irritating to the animal and
causes some discomfort but not to the extent of pain
caused to humans by mace. The spray makes the dog stop
in its tracks and “re-assess” the situation. He may just
shake his head and do some sneezing but he is definitely
deterred from his original objective. The reason that
the strength of Dog Repellent is less than human
pepper spray is because dogs do not have tear ducks
in their eyes that can wash away the pepper.
